Smartphone Integration

A never-ending traffic jam – who would not prefer to check the e-mails or to read the latest news instead of listening to the radio? Our unique technology makes this possible: It integrates the smartphone into the infrastructure of the vehicle and allows the easy utilization of the entire smartphone-apps. The display of the smartphone is reflected onto the display of the head-unit. The applications can be controlled either via touch-display of the head-unit or via smartphone.

External USB CD Drive

PLDS has developed a USB CD drive that can be connected to the radio application and „behaves“ like a USB mass storage class device, „MSC“ (such as a USB stick, USB HDD etc.)

The main functionalities are:

• Supports complete conversion of most common CD file systems (CD-DA, ISO9660, Joliet) to FAT32
• Provides CD-DA tracks as uncompressed WAV files
• USB is enabled at CD insert and securely disconnected at CD eject (same as connect / disconnect USB plug)
• Status visible via LED at front side
• Extra power supply to ensure compatibility with USB standard or power supply provided by application through USB connection (by specific customer agreement)
• Optional hub for connection of several USB devices

Bluetooth®

The implementation of the Bluetooth® standard into the car has to be safe, reliable and must not interfere with any safety car technology. Flexible modular software design, easy adaptation to profile updates and a high coverage of different mobile phone devices are just a few of our advantages.

We know how to fulfil the requirements of the market, such as easy access of e-mails and text messages, media streaming and remote control function, and phonebook download parallel to other Bluetooth® activities.

Bluetooth® antenna and software are on module side; therefore, integration into radio applications of different brands is easy and cost-effective.

Future-proof concept: The possibility to implement the Bluetooth® component in the application with or without CD drive.
